The Oahe Family YMCA was founded in 1971 and has been serving the Pierre/Ft. Pierre area for 45 years. The YMCA is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization governed by a Board of Directors made up of local volunteers. The Oahe Family YMCA serves the Pierre/Ft. Pierre area through programs that provide a positive, safe environment and supports the development of the basic core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. The YMCA is dependent on caring volunteers and generous donors to complete its inclusive mission and not turning anyone away for inability to pay for programs.
